Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a young boy in central Somalia’s Galkacyo town, witness said on Tuesday.
The deceased boy, whose name has been released as Sa’id Asair, was gunned down by men armed with pistols, a witness, who asked to be anonymous, said.
He says the victim had been hit several times on the head and chest, adding that the killers fled from the crime scene.
“This young boy was killed in Garsoor neighborhood in northern Galkayo under Puntland administration. The killers ran away”, he said.
The reason behind for the murder remains unknown.
No group says it carried out for the killing.
Meanwhile, tens of police soldiers reportedly launched an operation in the town, in a bid to arrest the culprits, who carried out killing and ambush attack on Kulmiye hotel.
No arrests have been made over the assassination in the town.
